As an opener, I am not an avid TV audience of Mr. Willy Revillame. We have only one TV at home, so that when his noontime show will be chosen by many of the family members, the most that I can do is simply going of the sala OR simply stays just to while away my time.
I was glued to the TV not to see Mr. Willy Revillame, but to witness the whole funeral rites on that day when our former President Corazon C.Aquino would be brought to her resting place beside her husband Senator Benigno S. Aquino.
There is a popular saying that "there are two sides of the coin. For me, with the incident I would say this time, it is "three sides of a coin.
One Side of the Coin-Willy Revillame's comments to halt the airing of the burial rites inside the Manila Cathedral:
Out of outburst of his emotions during that day, while he was making the noontime show a usual happy one with his antiques, he was not so careless to what his mouth says. Why....he was carried by his emotion. HUMAN AS HE IS he would be really more than happy to know that those shots will not be shown to give his due respect to the former president. Yes, to me that was my understanding as I read from his lips and heart. Ordering the halting of those church services, Mr. Willy Revillame failed to register in his mind that his audience at that time is composed of mostly people who would like to catch a glimpse of President Cory's last date on Mother Earth
Second Side of the Coin-Judging from the initial comments I read, there were so many who commented some harsh words against the commedian. We can not blame them because each individual is entitled to his own opinion. Besides, it is a public that during some unguarded moments, this Mr. Willy Revillame, although time and again his attention was called by MTRCB's Madame Laguardia for his uncalled for remarks, but there are really times that Mr. Revillame, which according to my gauge of understanding had been drawn sometimes by the enthusiasm shown by the audience as a sign of approval of what he is doing even "below the belt"to his own staff, the audience and even to his contestants.
Third Sides of the Coin- Let us wait and hear the side of the Management of the giant broadcasting firm. I Do believe its explanation can bring some healing touch to the angry viewers who are centering on Mr. Villame's head. Puede ka rin'g magsabi si Mr. Lopez na sana "I would have devoted that day to President Corazon C.Aquino's burial rites," because without her saying "Yes" to become the standard bearer of that snap election, ano kaya tayo ngayon.
However, the Aquino Family have spoken. I Believed their pronouncement we heard over the airlane will provide us a good exit door for this topic to die down. They have accepted Mr. Willy Revilame's sincere apology....... ANO PA BA ANG HINIHINTAY NATIN. BABANGON SI CORY ULI AT MAGSABING MGA KABABAYAN, ANG PUMATAY SA AKING ASAWA PINPATAWAD KO NA. SI WILLY PA KAYA, PARANG ANAK KO ' YAN SIYA AH."
